Comprehension is the ultimate goal of reading instruction.  Learn some strategies that will help learners develop reading comprehension skills.  We will practice techniques such as predicting, thinkalouds, KWL, and questioning.

Formula for Success - Sherrie Kirbach

Students can use a formula sheet when taking the GED math test.  That's great!  But, many learners do not know how to use it when they get it!  Vocabulary of Math, Definitions and Examples to help tutors explain the formula sheet to students!  Handouts.

ESL in Action: The Concept of Verbs - Johanna Gillan de Orozco

Explore verb tenses through adverbs, using the concept of time rather than grammatical formulas.  Learn how fun activities increase speaking skills and expand vocabulary.  By the way, what's the difference between "added," "rained," and "washed?"
